RCD Espanyol: player wages down 19% if the season ends, down 4% if it resumes

"The negotiations initiated a few weeks ago with the players of the first team and the technical staff have resulted in an agreement providing for their wages to be reduced by 19% in case the 2019-20 LaLiga Santander season does not resume. In case of resumption and if the 11 remaining matchdays are played, the reduction in wages will be 4%" announced RCD Espanyol (LaLiga Santander) on 27/04/2020.

This agreement will "supplement the wages of people affected by ERTE (Spanish short-time unemployment scheme) who have lower incomes," added the Catalan club, which targets in particular the players of the women's A team and the players of B team.

"All the signatories of a contract which ends on 30/06/2020 have accepted its extension until the effective end of the 2019-20 season," also indicated RCD Espanyol, while the 2019-20 Spanish championship has been suspended since 12/03/2020.
