Domino's Ligue 2: Chinese group Nenking officially becomes owner of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard

"FC Sochaux-Montbéliard SASP (Domino's Ligue 2) officially became the property of the Nenking group (real estate, CHN) on 27/04/2020", announced the club on that date.

"This sale to the group, whose founding president is Mr. Zhong Naixiong, comes in accordance with the agreements previously made with Ledus (a Chinese tchnology group)," added FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.

Administratively relegated to National 1 (French third division) by the DNCG (French professional football financial control) at the end of the 2018-19 season due to an estimated deficit of between €3m and €4m, the club was maintained in Domino's Ligue 2 on appeal on thanks to the financial assistance of the Nenking group. At the time, Nenking announced its imminent acquisition of FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, which then belonged to Ledus, to which Nenking had granted a loan (not reimbursed) of around €3.6m.
