France: "Ligue 1, Ligue 2, National and women's D1 are all definitively stopped" (N. Le Graët, FFF)

"We informed the executive committee of what they already knew (from the French State's announcement in the afternoon of 28/04/2020), that Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 cannot restart, nor can the National (men's third division) and the women's Division 1. These four competitions are definitively stopped for the 2019-20 season," announced Noël Le Graët, president of the FFF, on 28/04/2020, about the special meeting of the FFF executive committee organized just after the announcements of Édouard Philippe, the French Prime Minister, of the plan of easing the lockdown restrictions in France starting from 11/05/2020.

"The decision to stop playing is the right one. Priority to public health," added Noël Le Graët.

"Major sporting and cultural events, in particular festivals, large trade fairs, and all events which bring together more than 5,000 participants and are therefore the subject to formal declaration to the local prefecture and which must be organized will in advance, cannot be held before September (2020).
