"I think Michel d’Hooghe (chairman of the FIFA medical committee) should have kept his advice (about not playing any football games until September 2020) to himself, quite honestly. That type of decision really belongs to the leagues which are in countries with very different circumstances and situations, so I don’t think his statement was at all helpful. I don’t think it was the type of thing to say where you may or not not fully understand the situation that each league is currently trying to deal with," stated Lars-Christer Olsson, president of European Leagues, on 29/04/2020.

Olsson participated in an online webinar alongside Emanuel Macedo De Medeiros of SIGA (Sport Integrity Global Alliance), Michele Centenaro of the ECA, and Jonas Baer-Hoffman of FIFPro titled "COVID 360°: Where does football go now?", organized by SIGA and the football event organizer Soccerex, on 29/04/2020.
