FC Barcelona: Sant Jordi celebrated via video paying tribute to the "heroes" of the health crisis

FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) published a video of tribute to the "heroes of the daily fight against the coronavirus" as part of the celebrations of Sant Jordi (Saint George's Day), a very popular holiday in Catalonia, on 23/04/2020.

The video, entitled "The heroes of Sant Jordi", features thanks from former or current players of FC Barcelona, as well as extracts from the virtual meetings between players and children, the elderly and members of health personnel.

"Currently, it is the players, traditionally regarded as 'heroes' by fans, who express their gratitude for these anonymous 'new heroes': healthcare professionals, workers in essential sectors and those who have stayed at home to help stop the spread of the pandemic," added the Catalan club.

• Carles Puyol (ESP), Patrick Kluivert (NED), Hristo Stoichkov (BUL) and Javier Saviola (ARG) are among the former Barça players present in the video published by the club on 23/04/2020.
