Liga NOS: SL Benfica, the first Portuguese club to reach 1.5 million followers on Instagram

Sport Lisboa e Benfica (Liga NOS) is the first Portuguese club to accumulate more than 1.5 million followers on Instagram, announced the Lisbon (POR) club on 24/04/2020.

SL Benfica, which published its very first post on the social network on 09/04/2014, has recorded a total of 7.63 million interactions since 01/01/2020, an average of 1.81 million per month.

As of 03/05/2020, the Lisbon club had 1,504,022 followers on Instagram, ahead of FC Porto (1,416,321 followers) and Sporting Clube de Portugal (912,855).

SL Benfica is ranked 25^th in the Top 100 European football clubs with the most followers on Instagram compiled by News Tank Football on 01/05/2020, just behind AS Monaco FC (Ligue 1 Conforama, 24^th with 1.57 million followers) and just ahead of Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 Conforama, 26^th with 1.49 million followers).
