Paris Saint-Germain: ninth Ligue 1 title dedicated "to healthcare staff and all everyday heroes"

"We would like to dedicate this 2019-2020 Ligue 1 title to healthcare staff and to all the everyday heroes on the front line whose commitment and self-sacrifice over many weeks have earned our deepest admiration," said Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, president and CEO of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama), crowned by the LFP on 30/04/2020.

"With the knowledge taken of the decisions of the French Prime Minister (Édouard Philippe, on 28/04/2020) and of the government, the LFP board of directors therefore decides the ending of the 2019-20 season. We pronounce the final classification of Ligue 1 Conforama and Domino's Ligue 2 according to the rules already applied by the FFF for all the Championships (see below)," specified the LFP.

This decision allows the Parisian club, top of the table with 2.52 points per game played (22 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses after 27 matchdays), to retain their title as French champions.

With nine titles, Paris Saint-Germain joined Olympique de Marseille as the second most successful French club. Only AS Saint-Etienne have achieved more so far (10 titles).
