Covid-19/Formula 1: Hungarian Grand Prix to take place behind closed doors if it is maintained

The 2020 Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix, scheduled to take place at the Hungaroring circuit in Mogyoród from 31/07 to 02/08/2020, will be held behind closed doors if it is maintained, according to Formula One Group on 01/05/2020. This announcement comes after the Hungarian government banned any events involving more than 500 spectators until 15/08/2020.

The Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix 2020 is expected to be maintained from 16 to 19/07/2020, but would also be contested behind closed doors (see below).

10 races have so far been postponed or cancelled (out of a total of 22 GPs in 2020): the Australian, Monaco and French Grand Prix have been cancelled, while the Bahrain, Vietnam, Chinese, Netherlands, Spanish, Azerbaijan and Canadian have been postponed.

Thus, the first Grand Prix potentially maintained is the Austrian Grand Prix (from 03 to 05/07/2020). Red Bull, the promoter of the Austrian event, would like to successively propose two events, with two races contested on 05 and 12/07/2020, according to international media on 20/04/2020.
