Covid-19/DFL: 10 Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga players/staff test positive out of 1724 tested

Out of the 1,724 tests carried out since 30/04/2020 within the 36 Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga teams (players, technical and medical staff), 10 have tested positive, according to the DFL on 04/05/2020.

"A second wave of tests will be carried out this week. Here too, there may be isolated positive test results, especially since one of the objectives of this second round is to reduce the probability of 'false negative' results, which can never be completely ruled out. The DFL will continue to provide information on the results after this second wave of testing," said the German body.

A political decision on the resumption behind closed doors of the first two German divisions is expected on Wednesday 06/05/2020 after a meeting between German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the Minister Presidents of the Länder (the 16 German states). The DFL is hoping to resume with matches behind closed doors by the end of May.
