End of 2019-20 Ligue 1 season: relegated to Ligue 2, Amiens SC launches a petition for "justice"

"Following the decision to relegate Amiens SC Football (Ligue 1 Conforama) to Ligue 2 after only 28 matchdays played out of 38, Amiens SC is launching a petition to demand justice in the face of this decision, which is fraught with consequences and goes against sporting fairness," announced the club, 19th in Ligue 1 Conforama at the time of the suspension of the championship (13/03/2020), on 05/05/2020.

"Aware of the decisions and statements made by the Prime Minister (Édouard Philippe, when the de-confinement plan was announced on 28/04/2020) and the government, the LFP board of directors therefore decides to end the 2019-20 season. We pronounce the final classification of Ligue 1 Conforama and Domino's Ligue 2 according to the rules already applied by the FFF for all championships," stated the LFP on 30/04/2020. As a result, Amiens SC and Toulouse FC have been relegated, while FC Lorient and RC Lens have been promoted to the first division for the 2020-21 season.
