eSports: NBA 2K League 2020 season to be broadcast by ESPN (linear and digital channels)

The American sports pay-TV broadcaster ESPN has reached an agreement to broadcast the NBA 2K League 2020, the official NBA eSports competition played on the NBA 2K video game, on 05/05/2020.

For the first time ever, the competition was broadcast on a linear channel (ESPN 2) on 05/05/2020. For the first three weeks of the competition, the Tuesday night games will be broadcast on ESPN 2, while those played on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays will be broadcast on the ESPN application and website. The schedule for the following weeks "will be announced at a later date," said ESPN on 05/05/2020. In addition to the United States, ESPN will broadcast these events in the Caribbean, Latin America, Oceania and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The inaugural season of the NBA 2K League (in 2018) was broadcast exclusively on the video game platform Twitch, while the second season (2019) was also broadcast on Twitch as well as on the online video platform YouTube.
