"Let us all unite and look beyond our own interests! There is still time, until 25/05/2020 (deadline set by UEFA on 28/04/2020 for each European league to inform of their intentions to resume or end their domestic competitions), to relent and avoid having the French league suffer," said Olympique Lyonnais via its website on 10/05/2020.

"On 30/04/2020, the LFP suddenly decided to definitively stop the French professional leagues, without taking into account all of UEFA's recommendations, or giving itself time to observe what our dozens of neighbors were planning: relaunching the season while working on an entirely up-to-standard health protocol to protect the various parties in football," said the club.

"French football is not certain to recover from this premature stoppage. Nothing deserved a decision to stop. I estimate that there will be between €700 and €900m lost.
