Serie A TIM: Cagliari Calcio players give up their wages for April 2020

"S settlement has been reached with all the players of the first team that provides for the waiver of their monthly salaries for April 2020," announced Cagliari Calcio (Serie A TIM) on 11/05/2020. All sports competitions in Italy have been officially suspended since 10/03/2020, due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

"President Tommaso Giulini thanks the players who signed the agreement for the sensitivity shown in actively wanting to help protect the club, in a period that is particularly complicated and difficult to predict what will happen in the future," added the Sardinian club, which will save around €4m in expenses.

"As also requested by the signatories of the document, this transaction will contribute to a drastic reduction in the redundancy scheme for the company's employees," concluded Cagliari Calcio.
