Russia: Gazprom-Media (Match TV) extends its TV rights to the European Cups (2021-2024)

Gazprom-Media has extended its broadcasting rights in Russia for the Champions League and the Europa League for the 2021-2024 season, on 12/05/2020. All of the games will be broadcast via the Match TV sports channels. The agreement also includes the rights to UEFA's new competition, the UEFA Conference League.

Gazprom-Media faced competition from Russian digital platforms, notably Rambler and its OTT platform Okko, which acquired broadcasting rights for the Premier League over the 2019-2022 cycle on 12/04/2019.

In the current cycle (2018-2021), Gazprom-Media has, since October 2019, granted a sub-licence for the Champions League to the Russian OTT platform ivi.ru, which sells matches on a pay-per-view basis.
