Bayern Munich: Karl Hopfner may run for chairmanship of supervisory board on 02/05/2014

Karl Hopfner, acting president of the FC Bayern Munich association (Bundesliga) may apply to become the chairman of the supervisory board of the German club at the extraordinary general meeting of the club, to be held at the Audi Dome in Munich on 02/05/2014, said the German magazine, Kicker, on 25/04/2014.

"It is not impossible," said Karl Hopfner when asked about the possibility of running for president of the supervisory board, in addition to the presidency of the Bayern association, which he has held on an interim basis since the resignation of Uli Hoeness, following his sentence of three and a half years to prison for tax evasion on 14/03/2014.

Karl Hopfner was offered the presidency of the association indefinitely by the board of FC Bayern Munich on 14/03/2014.

In accordance with the statutes of the club, the board of Bayern Munich must convene for an extraordinary general meeting of its members within 40 days of the resignation of its chairman, to elect their successor.
