FIFA: "We do so much good, and then we're criticised! They say we're too rich" (Joseph Blatter)

"In an economy where people do not have jobs and there are social problems, we have an organisation, FIFA, which ... manages football. We are economically stable, we have no debt, and we have savings... We keep tabs on football... we get rid of the bad actors and we do so much good for the world. And then we're criticised! We're criticised because suddenly they say that we are too rich," Joseph Blatter, President of FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association) told News Tank on 25/04/2014.

Joseph Blatter expressed regret for the imbalances in the world of football and the growing dominance of large Western European championships. "This is an economic development and federation statutes can't change it," he said. "You can't go against economic principles."

But for him, football should seen as "social, cultural and educational... The mission is to, through football, develop discipline, respect, competitive spirit and a sense of fair play.
