UEFA: executive committee scheduled for Wednesday 27/05 postponed to Wednesday 17/06/2020

The next meeting of the UEFA executive committee, which was to take place on Wednesday 27/05/2020, has been postponed by three weeks to Wednesday 17/06/2020, announced the European body on 18/05/2020.

"Some remaining open points regarding a small number of proposed venues for the rearranged UEFA Euro 2020 next year," said UEFA.

An opening match on Friday 11/06/2021 and final on Sunday 11/07/2021 are the new dates for the next Euro, initially scheduled from 12/06 to 12/07/2020, UEFA announced on 17/03/2020.

The UEFA executive committee decided on 06/12/2012 to organize a "Euro for Europe" in 2020, rather than entrusting the organization to one or two host countries. This decision materialized from an idea proposed by Michel Platini (FRA), then president of UEFA, to celebrate the 60^th anniversary of the first European Nations Championship, organized in 1960.
