"Italy is restarting, it's normal for football to restart too. I have just called a meeting for (Thursday) 28/05/2020 with the president of the FIGC, Gabriele Gravina, and with the president of the Lega Serie A, Paolo Dal Pino. That day, we will be able to decide if and when we resume the football championship," said Vincenzo Spadafora, Italian Minister for Youth and Sports Policies, on public television Rai2 on 19/05/2020.

"It would have been easier to do like France, and to say that the championship was over," said the Italian minister, adding: "I was described as the enemy of football. At first that bothered me, but now it makes me smile."

"When will the championship restart safely? We all hope it will be as soon as possible, but for now, we are not yet sure. As Giuseppe Conte (head of the Italian government) has said, if the contagion curves continue to decrease, it will be possible to confirm (Saturday) 13/06/2020 for the restart of the Serie A TIM.
