Spain: "LaLiga resumption authorized for the week of 08/06/2020" (P. Sanchez, Prime Minister)

"The week of (Monday) 08/06/2020, the resumption of major sports and professional competitions, and in particular La Liga, will be authorized," said Pedro Sanchez, Prime Minister of the Spanish government, at a press conference on 23/05/2020.

"The ball will roll again in conditions which guarantee maximum health security for all its participants. Spanish football has a large audience inside and outside our borders, but it will not be the only recreational activity we will recover in the coming weeks," said the head of government.

"I am very happy with this decision. It is the fruit of great work between clubs, players, coaches... But it is very important to respect the health measures. We can't let our guard down," said Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, on 23/05/2020, on Twitter with the hashtag #VolverEsGanar ("To return is to win" or "Returning is Winning").

The Spanish Professional League is giving itself until the end of July 2020 to play the last 11 matchdays of the Spanish championship. The first matches could be scheduled on Friday 12/06/2020. The health protocol…
