TV rights (Germany): Amazon extends agreement with the Bundesliga until end of the 2019-20 season

The American e-commerce group Amazon is extending its non-exclusive broadcasting agreement for Bundesliga matches until the end of 2019-20, on 27/05/2020. Amazon has already co-broadcast three games alongside the OTT platform DAZN since the resumption of the 2019-20 Bundesliga. DAZN signed a similar agreement with the DFL on 21/05/2020.

The rights to this package of games were initially acquired by Eurosport over the 2017-2021 period, then sub-licensed to DAZN for the last two seasons of this cycle, before Eurosport unilaterally terminated its contract with the DFL (see below).

There are still seven 2019-20 Bundesliga games remaining (plus the play-offs between the Bundesliga and the 2.Bundesliga and between the 2.Bundesliga and the 3.Liga) in the contract initially concluded with Eurosport.
