"An agreement has been concluded with all the players of the first team, the coach and the sporting director who have expressed their desire to give up their monthly remuneration of March 2020, converted into a bonus conditioned on the completion of the championship and the maintenance of the club in Serie A," announced US Lecce (Serie A TIM) on 20/05/2020. All sports competitions have been officially suspended since 10/03/2020 in Italy, due to the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19).

"In accordance with the express wish of the players concerned, it was also decided not to request any reduction in wages from employees and administrative staff, physiotherapists, attendants, or from players and employees of the training center," added the Italian club.

Several Serie A clubs have seen their professional players waive or defer one or more months of wages since the start of the health crisis (see below), which has killed more than 32,000 people in Italy (as of 26/05/2020).
