Spain: RFEF accepts LaLiga matches on Friday and Monday "as a sign of good will"

"Real Federacion Espanola de Futbol (RFEF) wants to show its good will clearly, by making it easier for the season to end without problems. It therefore suggests to LaLiga that matches can be played on Friday and Monday until the end of this season without asking anything in return for this month and a half," said the Spanish Federation on 27/05/2020.

The Spanish body makes this gesture when a court has just ruled in the dispute which precisely opposes it to the Spanish Professional League concerning the matches on Friday and Monday: "The RFEF expresses its intense satisfaction after the ruling taken by the judge of the commercial court n°2 of Madrid, which rejects the request of LaLiga and declares that the programming of matches on Friday and Monday requires the approval of the Federation," underlined the RFEF.

"We hope to resume from 11 or 12/06/2020. We want to play every day of the week," said Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, while the Federation had banned the holding of matches on Monday from 2019-20, a decision confirmed by the Spanish justice, on 09/08/2019.
