Asics has reduced its CO2 emissions by pair of shoes produced during the manufacturing process by 27.9% since 2015, announced the Japanese equipment supplier during the presentation of its 2019 report on sustainable development published on 26/05/2020. Over this period, Asics initially aimed (in 2015) to reduce these manufacturing emissions by 10%.

"2020 is the last year of our current five-year strategic plan. While we have achieved many of the sustainability goals of this plan ahead of schedule, our work does not end there. We have already started to develop new plans for 2030, based on the new analysis that we completed in late 2019," said Motoi Oyama, president and CEO of Asics Corporation.
