"Premier League Shareholders (i.e. the 20 participating clubs) today voted unanimously to resume contact training, marking another step towards restarting the Premier League season, when safe to do so," announced the English Professional League on 27/05/2020.

"Squads are now able to train as a group and engage in tackling while minimising any unnecessary close contact. The Premier League’s priority is the health and wellbeing of all participants," added the English authority.

The Premier League should restart on Wednesday 17/06/2020 with two games which were previously postponed: Aston Villa-Sheffield United and Manchester City-Arsenal, the English top division said on 28/05/2020.

The following weekend, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20/06/2020 (with perhaps one match brought forward to Friday evening 18/06/2020), is scheduled for the programme of Matchday 30, the first of nine rounds still to be played to complete the 2019-20 season.
