LaLiga restart: free broadcasting in retirement homes in Spain (Mediapro / LaLiga agreement)

The Chinese-Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro and LaLiga have signed an agreement to offer, for free, LaLiga Santander and LaLiga Smartbank matches for the end of the 2019-20 season (11 matchdays) in all retirement homes in Spain that wish to have this, announced the Spanish League, on 28/05/2020.

This special broadcasting will take place via LaLiga TV Bar, a channel operated by Mediapro and marketed by telecom operators in Spain (Telefonica, Orange, and Vodafone).

Mediapro had acquired the broadcasting rights in Spanish public establishments (bars, restaurants, hospitals, etc) to LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank, for the 2019-2022 cycle, for an estimated amount of €160m per season, on 25/06/2018. Telefonica, Orange, and Vodafone bought these rights, for the 2019-20 season, on 11/08/2019.
