UEFA: First meeting of the working group on the fight against match-fixing

The first meeting of the working group of UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) on the fight against match-fixing took place in Nyon (SUI) on 29/04/2014.

Present were Michel Platini, president of UEFA; Gianni Infantino, its general secretary; its disciplinary and integrity specialists; state and national association prosecutors; representatives of the police; and betting experts from all over Europe. "UEFA remain vigilant, and aware that match-fixing is the greatest danger threatening our sport," said Platini at the end of this meeting.

During the meeting, a report was delivered on UEFA's BFDS (Betting Fraud Detection System). Also analysed was the establishment of a network of integrity officers in each association, who are responsible for relations between football authorities and government bodies.
