FC Bayern Munich: Thomas Glas appointed director of the club's new "brand strategy" department

Thomas Glas has been appointed as director of brand strategy at FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga), a new department within the German club, on 29/05/2020.

"Thomas Glas' areas of responsibility will include management of the FC Bayern brand and the development and implementation of a corresponding brand strategy," said the club. "Development, refining and positioning of our brand are of central importance for FC Bayern. We are delighted we have been able to recruit a qualified specialist for this task," explained Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, chairman of the executive board at FC Bayern Munich.

Thomas Glas arrived at the club from Audi, Bayern's German partner company, where he has worked for almost 13 years and was head of sports marketing from 2014 to 2020: "FC Bayern is one of the top brands in European football, so it is a great honour and responsibility for me to direct their further development and strategy," said Glas.
