LFP: agreement with beIN Sports for the payment of international rights for the 2019-20 season

The LFP has found an agreement with the pay-TV beIN Media Group for the payment for the international rights to Ligue 1 Conforama for the 2019-20 season, on 29/05/2020. "This decision allows the rights owed by broadcasters to the LFP to be definitively settled for the 2019-20 season," said the French Professional Football League.

beIN will pay €16.5m, an amount which corresponds to the balance of the number of matches played in the 2019-20 season, according to French media L'Équipe. The amount initially due by beIN before the suspension and then the final cessation of the French Championship was €35m (on 30/04/2020). The pay-TV group holds the international broadcasting rights to Ligue 1 for the 2018-2024 cycle for a minimum amount of €480m (€80m on average per year).

This agreement follows those signed by the French League with Canal+ and beIN Sports France for the payment of matches played for the 2019-20 season, on 24/04/2020.
