Forbes: Roger Federer world's highest-paid athlete (€95.6m), ahead of C. Ronaldo and L. Messi

Tennis player Roger Federer is the world's highest-paid athlete with a total of $106.3m (€95.6m) in earnings between 01/06/2019 and 01/06/2020, according to the American magazine Forbes on 29/05/2020. The Swiss national is the first tennis player to take first place in this ranking since its creation in 1990 and ranks ahead of Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus FC) with a total of $105m (including $60m in salaries and bonuses) and Argentina's Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona) with $104m (including $72m in salaries and bonuses).

Roger Federer's earnings include $6.3m (€5.6m) in prize money and $100m (€90m) in commercial revenues from 13 partner brands including Uniqlo, Barilla, Moet & Chandon and Rimowa, which pay "between $3m and $30m to associate themselves with the 20-time Grand Slam champ," said Forbes.
