Formula 1: 2020 season begins in Austria with 2 Grand Prix on 03-05 + 10-12/07/2020, 8 GP confirmed

Formula One Group has unveiled a modified 2020 calendar, currently comprising eight races and a launch in Austria with two Grand Prix to be held from 03 to 05/07/2020 and from 10 to 12/07/2020, announced the body on 02/06/2020. For the first time in the history of Formula One, two Grand Prix will be held on the same circuit with a one-week interval.

The two Austrian races at The Red Bull Ring will be followed by the Hungarian Grand Prix (Mogyoród), two stages in the British GP at Silverstone, the Spanish GP in Barcelona, the Belgian GP (Spa-Francorchamps) and the Italian GP (Monza). The eight European Grand Prix will be held between 03/07 and 06/09/2020 (see calendar below). While it has been confirmed that the Australian, French and Dutch Grand Prix will not take place during the 2020 season, Formula One Group still wants to organise between 15 and 18 races before the end of the season in December 2020.

"F1 currently expect the opening races to be closed events but hope fans will be able to attend again when it is safe to do so," said the body.
