France: "The LFP bears full responsibility for decision to stop the league" (Olympique Lyonnais)

"Olympique Lyonnais takes note of the decision of the judge in the summary proceedings of the State Council not to suspend the decision to stop the league (Ligue 1 Conforama), which was taken by the LFP on 30/04/2020," said the French club on 09/06/2020.

"However, the judgment unequivocally mentions that this decision was taken by the LFP's board of directors, and not by the State, and that the said board was not bound by the positions expressed by the Prime Minister (Édouard Philippe) on 28/04/2020, contrary to what the LFP has insisted. The LFP, just like Canal+ did in renouncing the contract for the broadcasting of Ligue 1 games, therefore bears full responsibility for this decision," added Olympique Lyonnais.
