Bundesliga TV rights (2021-2025): auction began on 08/06/2020, expected results on 22/06/2020

The auction phase of the tender for the domestic broadcasting rights to the Bundesliga, the 2.Bundesliga and the DFL-Supercup (2021-2025 cycle) began on 08/06/2020. The results are expected to be announced at the DFL general assembly on 22/06/2020, according to the German press.

The call for tenders, launched on 16/03/2020, had been suspended by the German league during the health crisis on 24/03/2020. The auction phase was initially scheduled to begin on 27/04/2020 and the results were to be communicated on 11/05/2020.

The tender consists of seven lots for live matches as well as seven lots for highlights and video clips. The seven lots for live matches are:

A: Pay-TV: 166 Bundesliga matches (35 multiplexes) on Saturday at 15:30 CET, or Tuesday/Wednesday at 20:30.
B: Pay-TV: 170 individual Bundesliga matches, Saturday at 15:30, or Tuesday/Wednesday at 18:30 or 20:30 (plus play-off matches).
C: Pay-TV: 33 Bundesliga matches on Saturday at 18:30 (plus the DFL-Supercup).
D: Pay-TV: 106 Bundesliga matches on Friday at 20:30, Sunday at 15:30, 17:30 and 19:30.
E: Free-TV: 9 matches…
