The U.S. confectionary company Mondelez became the official snacking partner of the FFA (Football Federation Australia) on 01/05/2014.

The multi-year agreement allows the brand to launch a communications campaign in Australian territory before the 2014 World Cup (Brazil, 12/06 to 13/07/2014). Mondelez will highlight several of its brands including Oreo, Cadbury and Philadelphia. The logo and the image of FFA will appear on product packaging.

FFA is looking for a primary sponsor to replace the national airline Qantas, whose contract expires at the end of the 2014 World Cup.

  • Australia is qualified in Group B for the 2014 World Cup.
    • It will face Chile (13/06/2014), the Netherlands (18.06.2014) and Spain (23/06/2014).
  • Australian fans will be the 3rd largest contingent of fans at the World Cup; they have 40,681 tickets (Brazilians have 1,041,418 and Americans have 154,412) as of 04/02/2014.
  • The sports rights marketing agency SponsorCom -- owned by GroupM, a media investment management group -- manages FFA's media and sponsorship rights.
