Financial Fair Play: Marseille "takes note" of the UEFA sanctions, considering an appeal to the CAS

"Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 Conforama) takes note of the decision rendered by the UEFA CFCB adjudicatory chamber. The chamber understood the health situation and its impact on the financial balance of all actors in football, especially recognizing the obvious impossibility of many clubs to make medium-term forecasts and underlined the total lack of visibility in the current economic prospects," indicated Olympique de Marseille, a few moments after the publication of the decision of the Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) of the European confederation against the club, on 19/06/2020.

"The club (Olympique de Marseille) has been sanctioned with a fine of €3,000,000, as well as a permanent withholding of 15% of the revenues that the club would be entitled to receive from any participation in the UEFA club competitions in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 seasons," announced UEFA on 19/06/2020.
