Italy: no free-to-air Serie A TIM matches but highlights on the public television channel RAI 2

There will be no free-to-air matches broadcast in Italy for the end of the 2019-20 Serie A TIM season (played behind closed doors), contrary to what Vincenzo Spadafora, the Italian Minister for Youth and Sports Policies, had hoped for following the refusal of the Italian Competition Authority Antitrust, according to the Italian press on 22/06/2020. However, summaries (goals and highlights) of the matches will be broadcast on the public channel Rai 2 from Monday 22/06/2020.

"We are well advanced in reaching an agreement. It is not easy, Sky Italia has the rights, the free matches have never been allocated to anyone, then there is RAI, Mediaset and DAZN. It is a complex problem but we are getting there," said Vincenzo Spadafora via Facebook, on 15/06/2020, regarding the broadcast of free-to-air matches for the end of the 2019-20 Serie A TIM season which resumed on 20/08/2020.
