Premier League: 3.6 million viewers for Bournemouth - Crystal Palace, first match on the BBC

AFC Bournemouth - Crystal Palace FC (0-2), on Matchday 30 of the 2019-20 Premier League season, played behind closed doors, drew an average audience of 3.6 million people in the UK, with a peak audience of 3.9 million, on BBC One on Saturday 20/06/2020 (kick-off at 19:45 BST, 20:45 CET), according to information provided by the British Broadcasting Corporation. This figure represented an audience share of 22%.

This was the first Premier League match to be broadcast live on the BBC since the creation of the Premier League in 1992 and also the first of four matches behind closed doors that the BBC will broadcast during the end of the season (see below).

The average TV audience (excluding computers, tablets, smartphones, etc.) for the match was 3.3 million viewers, according to data provided by the British audience measurement institute BARB (Broadcasters' Audience Research Board).
