Serie A TIM: a #BlackLivesMatter patch on AS Roma shirts for the resumption of the championship

AS Roma (Serie A TIM) players will wear a patch on the left sleeve of their shirts with the slogan #BlackLivesMatter for all matches played until the end of the 2019-20 Italian championship season, announced the club on 18/06/2020.

Established in 2013, the anti-racist Black Lives Matter movement became very popular around the world during the protests following the death of George Floyd, 46-year-old African-American who died as a result of "asphyxiation from sustained pressure" during his arrest by the police in Minneapolis (Minnesota, United States) on 25/05/2020. On the sleeve of AS Roma's shirts, the slogan #BlackLivesMatter will be associated with the word "Assieme" ("Together", in Italian), in reference to the campaign launched by the club regarding its initiatives related to the Covid-19 crisis (see below).
