2.Bundesliga: Cologne to adopt contactless payment for its shop and refreshment stands

FC Cologne (2.Bundesliga) will adopt a contactless payment system for its shop and refreshment stands at the Rhein Energie Stadion (50,000 capacity), they announced on 25/04/2014.

These fans will enjoy a 5% discount on purchases in stadium stores. The club will be equipped with the contactless payment system Girogo beginning in the 2014-15 season. The prepaid payment cards are being developed with the club's bank sponsor: Sparkasse Cologne - Bonn and Kreissparkasse Cologne. The club hopes to reduce waiting time for payment and to increase revenue.

Contactless payment is available for purchases costing less than €20. This system will be implemented on 22/08/2014 at the first home game of FC Cologne, promoted to Bundesliga for 2014-15.
