Premier League: David Jackson named marketing manager of Sunderland AFC

David Jackson will be the marketing manager for Sunderland AFC (Premier League), announced the club on 01/05/2014.

He had held the position of Director of Business Development at Bond Dickinson, an English law firm, since 2011. "The same principles of marketing apply to almost every sector, but moving from law into football is certainly going to be a change of pace for me," said David Jackson.

David Jackson will oversee a team of eight people in charge of club marketing campaigns and of 1879 Events Management, an event agency and subsidiary of the club. The agency organises non-sporting events at the club's Stadium of Light (Sunderland) as "North East Live" an international festival of pop-rock. The agency also manages the programming of the cultural center at Sunderland, the Stadium and National Glass Centre.
