Spain: EA Sports (video games) retains the official license to LaLiga until 2029-30

The video game publisher EA Sports has retained the official license for LaLiga by extending its partnership for "the next 10 years" until the end of 2029-30, announced the subsidiary of Electronic Arts on 24/06/2020.

As part of this agreement, which according to Spanish media is worth between €8-10m per year, EA Sports remains a global partner (2nd level) of the Spanish professional league and its "exclusive video games partner". The previous extension (2019-2024) was on 23/05/2019.

The company based in Redwood City (California, USA) will be able to use the exclusive license to LaLiga Santander, LaLiga SmartBank and eLaLiga Santander (eSports). "This includes a joint commitment to grow fandom and eSports participation through LaLiga's official eSports competition, eLaLiga Santander," said the body. All the clubs in the Spanish championship will be reproduced along with their logos, sponsors and official kits. EA Sports is licensed by FIFA, UEFA, CONMEBOL and the main football leagues in the world (Premier League, Serie A TIM, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 Conforama and MLS).
