Spain: Patricia Rodríguez Barrios (Elche CF) appointed second vice-president of LaLiga

Patricia Rodríguez Barrios, CEO of Elche Club de Futbol (LaLiga SmartBank) since June 2019, has been appointed second vice-president of LaLiga, announced the Spanish professional league on 23/06/2020.

"After the term established in the electoral calendar for the presentation of appeals against the provisional proclamation made on 17/06/2020, and since no appeal has been filed, LaLiga has definitively proclaimed the candidacy of Patrícia Rodríguez Barrios. Therefore, by virtue of the provisions in LaLiga's general regulations, as the number of candidatures received is equal to that of the existing vacancies, Ms. Patricia Rodríguez Barrios is appointed, without further procedure, as second vice-president of the League," said LaLiga.

Patricia Rodríguez is the first woman to hold this position on the executive committee of LaLiga, the highest governing body within the structure lead by Javier Tebas. Prior to being CEO of Elche CF, Patricia Rodríguez was CEO of Sociedad Deportiva Eibar (LaLiga Santander) from May 2016 to February 2019.
