Premier League: Liverpool FC win 19^th top-flight title, 30 years after the previous one

Liverpool FC have been crowned the 2019-20 Premier League champions following Manchester City FC's defeat versus Chelsea FC (2-1) at Stamford Bridge (41,663 capacity) on Matchday 31 on Thursday 25/06/2020.

Liverpool have a 23-point lead over second-placed Manchester City - the reigning champions - with seven matchdays remaining, meaning that no matter what happens, City will not be able to catch them. Liverpool have been waiting 30 years for a new league title, with the previous one coming at the end of the 1989-90 season.

Liverpool may have won their first Premier League title since the Premier League was founded in 1992, but they now have 19 English top-flight trophies to their name, bringing them closer to Manchester United FC (a record 20 English top-flight titles) and further ahead of Arsenal FC (13 titles).
