Nîmes Olympique: "We lost €5.5m due to the end of the championship" (R. Assaf, president)

"This season (2019-20), we lost €5.5m due to the end of the championship. That's less money for the development of the club but it does not at all call into question its financial health, as our appearance before the DNCG (25/06/2020) proved," said Rani Assaf, owner and president of Nîmes Olympique (Ligue 1 Uber Eats), at a press conference held at the club's headquarters on 26/06/2020.

"Not all the partners will follow us (in 2020-21) and to open the stadium with a capacity of 5,000 spectators, I think it won't be profitable and it will cost more to organise. I hope there will be a relaxing of the rules, because to play a whole season behind closed doors would be the death of football. We can't play at a loss," added the president of the Nîmes (FRA) club, whose 2020-21 objective is to remain in the elite with a budget "close to €40m" (compared to €27m in 2019-20, the lowest budget in Ligue 1).

"For season ticket holders and VIP services (2019-20), there will be reimbursements and vouchers on the ticketing system, up to about 25%," added Rani Assaf, while in 2020-21 the club will…
