Mediapro: €120m to be injected into the company, including €55m via a loan (press)

The Spanish audiovisual group Mediapro is in the process of acquiring a €55m loan from Deutsche Bank (main bank), Goldman Sachs and Citi, according to the Spanish newspaper El Confidencial, on 30/06/2020. The loan is conditional on the group's shareholders injecting the same amount into the company through a capital increase, i.e. an additional €55m. In total, €120m will be injected into Imagina, Mediapro's parent company, according to the Spanish newspaper.

The Chinese investment fund Orient Hontai (53.5% shareholder), the British advertising group WPP (22.5%) and the historical directors Jaume Roures (12%) and Tatxo Benet (12%) will contribute funds in proportion to their shares in the company. This means that Jaume Roures and Tatxo Benet will each inject €6.6m.

Mediapro had initially requested a loan guaranteed by the Spanish official credit institute of €125m from Deutsche Bank, in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis, according to El Confidencial, on 03/06/2020.
