Bundesliga: adidas succeeds Macron as equipment supplier of 1. FC Union Berlin (2020-2025)

adidas will become the official equipment supplier of 1. FC Union Berlin (Bundesliga) from 2020-21, announced the club on 02/07/2020. The agreement, scheduled to run for five seasons (2020-2025), would involve an estimated €700,000 per year, according to German media. adidas succeeds Macron, Union Berlin's equipment supplier for the 2015-2020 cycle.

The German brand benefits from the status of main partner, the first level in the sponsorship hierarchy of the club promoted to the Bundesliga after the 2018-19 season. The agreement also covers the supply of training kits.

In the 2019-20 Bundesliga, only FC Bayern Munich are equipped by adidas. The partnership between the 2019-20 German champions and adidas has lasted for 55 seasons (beginning in 1965-66). While Union Berlin were the only club in the 2019-20 Bundesliga to be equipped by Macron, the Spanish brand will be well represented in the German championship in 2020-21. Notably, DSC Arminia Bielefeld, promoted to the Bundesliga for 2020-21, signed an agreement with Macron on 04/06/2020.
