Spain: Real Madrid CF to acquire CD Tacón with the women's team taking its name from 2020-21

"Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) wishes to announce that it has sent the corresponding documentation to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in order to make effective the merger by absorption of Club Deportivo Tacón (Primera Iberdrola), a women's football club effective when the current 2019-20 football season is definitively concluded," announced the Madrid (ESP) club on 01/07/2020.

Real Madrid had its proposal to acquire CD Tacón approved by the "extraordinary general assembly of committed members" on 15/09/2019 with effect from 01/07/2020 on 25/06/2019. The club will therefore have a women's team under its name from the 2020-21 Primera Iberdrola season, which will continue to play its home games at the Ciudad Real Madrid, the club's training centre, as in 2019-20.
