Serie A TIM: a tribute to Ennio Morricone on Matchday 31

"In loving memory of Ennio Morricone, the Oscar winning Italian composer, who died today (06/07/2020) at the age of 91, Lega Serie A announces that players and referees will enter the pitch to the tune of 'Deborah's Theme' (from the film 'Once upon a time in America' by Sergio Leone, released in 1984) a famous soundtrack by the Italian composer, on Matchday 31 of the championship (from Tuesday 07 to Thursday 09/07/2020)," announced the Lega Serie A on 06/07/2020.

Born on 10/11/1928 in Rome (ITA), the Italian Ennio Morricone was one of the greatest composers of film music. "The song, one of the Maestro's greatest hits, will be played in all stadiums from the moment the officials take to the pitch until the end of the team line-up, replacing the official Lega Serie A anthem," added the Italian league.

"This is a sincere celebration for one of Italy's most famous artists who, throughout his life, has always remembered his passion and the closeness he had to the world of football," concluded the body.
