Formula 1: two new Grand Prix confirmed in Mugello (ITA) and Sochi (RUS), for a total of 10

Formula One Group announced on 10/07/2020 the holding of two additional Grand Prix for 2020, in Mugello in Italy from 11 to 13/09/2020 and in Sochi in Russia from 25 to 27/09/2020. These additions bring the total number of confirmed races for the 2020 F1 season in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic to 10. Formula One Management is still counting on a 2020 season consisting of 15 to 18 races (see calendar of the first 10 races below).

The Tuscan Grand Prix, at Mugello (north-east of Florence), will be the fourth Italian circuit in history to host a Formula 1 race, after Monza, Imola and Pescara. The race is positioned just after the Italian Grand Prix (Monza, from 04 to 06/09/2020). This will be Scuderia Ferrari's 1,000^th ever Grand Prix. The circuit of Mugello, which belongs to the Ferrari group, hosts the Moto GP Italian Grand Prix every year.

In Russia, the Sochi Autodrom could be the first Grand Prix in the 2020 season to welcome spectators. The first two events were held behind closed doors at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria.
