Qatar 2022: opening match on Monday 21/11 at 11:00 CET, final on Sun 18/12/2022 at 16:00

The opening match of the 2022 World Cup will start on Monday 21/11/2022 at 13:00 local time (11:00 CET) with the Qatar team, which has qualified as an official team, at the Al Bayt Stadium (60,000 capacity, in Al Khor, QAT), announced FIFA on 15/07/2020, two years to the day after France's victory in the final of the previous World Cup in Russia (France - Croatia, 4-2 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on 15/07/2018).

"With the aim of providing all teams with optimal rest between their matches, the group stage will last 12 days (from Monday 21/11 to Friday 02/12/22) and, with four matches per day, it promises a full and exciting schedule for fans," said the International Federation (see schedule below).

Group stage matches will start at 13:00, 16:00, 19:00 and 22.00 (i.e. 11:00, 14:00, 17:00 and 20:00 CET, with simultaneous kick-offs on the final matchday) and knockout phase matches will start at 18:00 or 22:00 (16:00 or 20:00 CET).
