IOC: $100m paid to National Olympic Committees and Int'l Federations since the start of the pandemic

The International Olympic Committee has already paid out around $100m (€87.5m) to National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and International Federations (IFs) since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the IOC on 15/07/2020.

$63m (€55.1m) was given to the International Federations and $37m (€32.4m) to the NOCs.

"It has been confirmed by the IOC executive board that the IOC will continue supporting the NOCs with the TOP Programme allocation amounting to $150m (€131.3m) payable by end of this year," said the International Olympic Committee.

"The Olympic Movement is facing an unprecedented challenge. The IOC has to organise postponed Olympic Games (the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are postponed to 2021, see dates below) for the first time ever, and has to help its stakeholders come through this global crisis. This new situation will need all our solidarity, creativity, determination and flexibility," said Thomas Bach, president of the IOC.
